Elsie Allen Agriculture Mechanics

If you it, you can Ag-chieve it!

This year's chapter theme evokes the notion that your life is in your hands. You have distinct opportunities to get involved in Supervised Agriculture Experience Projects (SAE's), involve yourself in a new speaking contest to combate your fear of public speaking and grow yourself personally, or simply find your home at Elsie Allen High School.

Fabrication Projects
Students in the Agriculture Mechanics Program have the ability to create almost anything out of almost any medium that's associated with Welding (GMAW, SMAW, TGAW), Electricity, Plumbing, Woodworking, Hot and Cold Metal Working, or Concrete and Masonry. A majority of the projects we work on are fucused on agriculturally related equipment and structures, but some students also have the knack for working in an artistic sense. See below for more information!
Metal Working
Metal projects range in the areas of cold metal and hot metal fabrication. Welding is usually a key skill exhibited here in hot metal projects. Students learn the basics of welding symbols, structural weld joints, and machine applications in arc welding that serve as the foundation skills for further advancement in MIG and TIG (Heliarc) welding.
Sample projects are shown here.

Woodworking
Woodworking projects combine all types of skills to produce everything from functional seating and furniture to decorative additions for any home. We can repurpose old material for artistic designs, or build anew to suit any order.
Sample projects are shown here.

Combination Projects
These projects combine any areas that the students are adept in, or have learned about in the shop over the course of their tenure. These projects tend to be more complex in nature, and require students to focus on the design and plan part of the project just as much as the build itself. They can use any medium from electrical, plumbing, welding, woodworking, and cold metal.
Sample projects are shown here.
